SharePod 3.8.8 will support the new iPhones and iTouches!! This is largely thanks to a lot of hard work by a couple of very smart people.
It will also be able to add your copied music into iTunes automatically - no more importing the SharePod_iTunes_Import.xml. This also means that ratings and playcounts will be shown correctly in iTunes.
I hope to release 3.8.8 next week - and at the same time clean up the forums.

I did implement auto-add to iTunes yes. But not using the iTunes SDK. Its slow and makes iTunes open its main window (and sync connected iPods/download podcasts etc), when all you want is to add some tracks/playlists behind the scenes.
So I spent last week writing the iTunes LibraryEditor which updates the iTunes library file directly. It won't be part of SharePodLib but will be available to buy separately. Will send a link when its ready.
