iTunes 9.1 update

When you upgrade to iTunes 9.1, you'll find SharePod 3.9.4.x will not be able to detect your iPhone or iTouch.

The solution? Grab SharePod 3.9.5 :)

Thank You! I've been killing myself since yesterday trying to get SharePod 3.9.4 Working! :D

You may be interested to know that SharePod 3.9.5 no longer runs in Windows 2000 (yes, sadly, some of us are still forced to use it).

The error message is:

System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'SharePodLib.SharePodLib' threw an exception. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'IPhoneConnector.AppleMobileDeviceAPI' threw an exception. ---> System.EntryPointNotFoundException: Unable to find an entry point named 'IsWow64Process' in DLL 'kernel32.dll'.
at IPhoneConnector.AppleMobileDeviceAPI.IsWow64Process(IntPtr hProcess, Boolean& lpSystemInfo)
at IPhoneConnector.AppleMobileDeviceAPI.Is64Bit()
at IPhoneConnector.AppleMobileDeviceAPI.GetMobileDeviceDllPathInfo()

Perhaps you may wish to indicate on the Download page that SharePod 3.9.5 needs XP or greater?

ESXi, that wasn't intentional - I'll upload a new version of 3.9.5 that works on win2000.

When exactly will support for videos going to be added to SharePod? Claims are made that it's possible to download and upload videos, yet this feature doesn't exist. Any ideas when this will be supported?

Does sharepod work with the new Ipad

Hey Jeff! Thanks again, but just a FYI, this corrupts the itunes database on the iphone. I fixed it by running a backup, but please take alook into this bug ok? Thanks!

Jeff said...

@dave - have you used an earlier version of SharePod with your iPod?

@jack - are there any messages in your sharepod.log file? What do you mean they dont play?

@john - yes I have heard it does but havent tested it myself

@iry - can you provide more detail - [email protected]

Hi, Jeff. You have done a great job. And will you update a version to support iPad recently? I tried to it on my iPad. It recognized the iPad device and seemed to transfer the files successfully, but after that, my iTunes could not read the content of my iPad and asked me to restore the device.

I am not sure if my issue is already known or not.

I am trying to drag-and-drop songs/ folders/ playlists on my computer, and no matter what compatibility I try it on, with or without admin rights, it will not allow drag-and-drop.

I am using Win7 Ult X64 on the laptop, and having the same issues on Win7 Home Premium x64.

I have not tried in on an x86 version of 7, but the function works just fine on the XP machine.

Anny suggestions?
Thanks!! :)

Experiencing the same thing with not being able to drag music on Win 7...

Also having the Sqlite DB issue as well - I deleted all music from my iPhone using sharepod and when I go into the music app on the iPhone it shows all my songs, but the app crashes.

Obviously the music DB has been corrupted by sharepod. Is there a fix?

Chauncy said...

Is there any way to playback the tracks from the iPod without copying it to the computer first?

NostalgicStone said...

Today, as if by magic, i can all of a sudden drag and drop music to and from the Sharepod window with no issues whatsoever.
At first, I thought "Oh Im not using Aero, that must be why!" So I enabled Aero, restarted Sharepod, and.... It still works. I dont have time to test my other theory, due to homewoork and my talent of procrastination, but here it is: UAC?
That is the only other function that has changed since i last tried dragging and dropping. UAC is now off.
Anyone wanna give it a shot and verify?
If not ill try it later.

ahaspharos said...

Hello and thank you for that great tool.

Unfortunatly Drag&Drop is still not working.
My OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64bit...

UAC didn't change anything....
@ Win Vista 32bit Drag&Drop works fine.

Thx for help :)

Jose Luis said...

Jeff thank you for Sharepod. Now with my os Win7 Ultimate 64 bits can't drag&drop and can't play any music archive. I've tried with the latest Sharepod version and previous too without success. Do you have a fix already?
Thanks

Is it possible to format a drag and drop flash storage mp3 player based on an ID3 database with all of the iPod folders and use SharePod with it? I really love SharePod but I recently lost my iPod and I am planning to buy an alternative mp3 player.
Or perhaps a version of SharePod which will work with all mp3 players? :D

@Jeff
Sorry this is a bit late, the songs appear on my ipod touch but when i choose one of the songs and nothing happens for about 2 seconds and then it moves to the next song which also dosnt work it just keeps on going through all the songs and just exits back to music library menu.

I cannot drag and drop files in my Sharepod :(
I use the last version.
It's weird... sometimes drag and drop works, sometimes does not.
I use win 7 ultimate x64

Hey Jeff, I recently downloaded iTunes 9.1 and I had the older version of SharePod, today I downloaded the newer version 3.9.4.x. Every time I try and sync music onto my iPhone from my computer I keep getting this message: "The database disc image is malformed". It shows the artist on my iPhone, but when I click on the artist there's no music. Also when I go to delete a song from SharePod this message comes up: "System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: The database disk image is malformed

What the heck!
SharePod has worked perfectly for me until now, and I didn't download iTunes 9.1, and have the newest sharepod, and this still keeps happening: when I put a song into my library- it just doesn't appear, and when I delete them using my computer iI get the message:

Hi I was given an Ipod Touch for my birthday on 15 June and still haven't got it working. Am nervous to use Itunes in case I lose all my music on my laptop. Was told about Sharepod but I don't seem to be able to download it - nothing happens. Is Windows Vista the problem. Can anyone help an IT ignoramus.

Having problem with transferring music to my iphone which is running ios4. The transfer actually finished with no errors and can be seen on sharepod's interface. However, they just don't show up on iphone (ipod) for some reasons. It would be great if you can look into that as I really love this software :)

I have the same problem as above poster: i add files to my iphone ios4, and everything seems to work fine, plus they appear in the ipod library in sharepod, but i cak't see them in the phone. Have tried restarting the phone and upgrading itunes/.net framework...
